Circles, straight lines, enduring work

The story of Tracery

The story behind the Tracery name begins with a structural detail in a cathedral in France.

Beauty in the structure

On his honeymoon, Mark stopped in front of a hand-carved, twenty-foot support. It was both beautifully detailed and an integral part of the structural frame. Simple circles and straight lines had become something extraordinary.

A method that stayed with us

Gothic masons drew their designs full size before building. Mark still draws design elements on a subfloor or nearby wall to work through the details. The company’s name carries that connection between craft, geometry and structural understanding.
